Things I love… childish wonder. I’m continually amazed by my son’s capacity to find wonder in simple things – here a twiggy bush.

What you can’t see or hear from this frozen point in time is his hand coming up again and again to touch a branch and say, “This?” Waiting for me to tell him again, “Branch.” We stood there for at least ten minutes and must have covered the entire bush. I think he sees each branch as an individual – different in its structure. And he needs something more than branch to describe what he is seeing, discovering, wondering over…

Well, good thing you kept saying “branch.”

I would have been evil and said “twig,” “branch,” “stem,” etc.

How cute! Those kind of moments crack me up. If you scrapbook, that’d be a good one.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by and visit - you are always welcome here. I do my best to respond to you within your own comments on a post. This takes time. I try to plug away at a few things in between pulling my hair out and chasing down my three year old son. If you have a question or some pressing matter or even if you'd just like to strike up a little conversation... I can be reached via email at ruralmamaATcomcastDOTnet.
