The Reveal…

After so many difficult days with the computer and the flu we have the long anticipated contents of the lovely package from Hawaii. Inside our package from babybug and mamabug were pretty wrapped packages in our favorite color green!

Unwrapped….

How clever our swapmates are… George’s Box of Sunshine – isn’t this the best idea!

Inside George’s Box of Sunshine were many envelopes with detailed descriptions of each of their contents.

George’s favorite part of his box were the crab and the sea turtle “Honu”. He likes putting them in the back of his play dump-truck and gives them a ride around the livingroom.

These are shells from one of the beaches of Oahu… some of them have holes “Puka” – we think they’re beautiful.

Some more shells collected from the beach of Shark Cove. We’ve been assured that there were no sharks… we were scared a little bit.

The best gift from our swapmates was this lovely “Vana” and “Vana” spikes. They’re poisonous when they’re alive and safe when they’re like this… isn’t it gorgeous?

We received a special postcard (three more are on their way) and an envelope to keep them in. Look another “Honu”!

I was really excited about the bag. Look at the fabric – isn’t it wonderful? Not to mention the sewing is absolutely perfect. Handmade by mamabug! It’s the perfect size for carrying all our errand essentials. Georgie likes to carry it for me too.

And Mochiko flour and a Mochi cookbook. We’ve never had any Mochi before and thought it would be super fun to try so we made the Custard Mochi. We love it!!!

Boy oh boy… Kimi Balls. These are very deceptive. I thought it would be great to give Georgie some and that would be that… um, no. I have to dole these out (at least until I can find a source) as a special dessert treat after dinner. He points and screams for them if he sees the bag now.

Kimi Balls

Do you think he likes them?

Evidence that Georgie likes Kimi Balls

I have to tell you that this has been THE BEST swapping experience I’ve had in a long time. It’s nice we have so many things in common. We feel truly special to have had such a wonderful swapmates. Thank you babybug and mamabug. We look forward to getting to know you better and staying in touch.

Welcome

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by and visit - you are always welcome here. I do my best to respond to you within your own comments on a post. This takes time. I try to plug away at a few things in between pulling my hair out and chasing down my three year old son. If you have a question or some pressing matter or even if you'd just like to strike up a little conversation... I can be reached via email at ruralmamaATcomcastDOTnet.

But at least I get to go to China during part of the hottest and rainiest time of year...lol.

I guess this is as close as I'm getting to Greece this year.
