We are blessed with a lot of wild beasties in our yard including a lot of herps. This little guy is a Hyla versicolor or Gray Tree Frog (which can be gray, brown or green). He was hanging out by the back door when he decided to hitch a ride inside.

We also have Rana palustris or Pickerel Frogs. This means a lot because they will only breed in unpolluted waters. We live near the very end of the Shiawassee River Basin, which is part of the NOHLC. When I catch up to one of these I’ll post a picture. Until then you’ll have to take a gander at him over here.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by and visit - you are always welcome here. I do my best to respond to you within your own comments on a post. This takes time. I try to plug away at a few things in between pulling my hair out and chasing down my three year old son. If you have a question or some pressing matter or even if you'd just like to strike up a little conversation... I can be reached via email at ruralmamaATcomcastDOTnet.
